Ufa State Aviation Technical University has become the venue for the jubilee XXV open team student championship of the Urals in sports programming. This year the championship is dedicated to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the university.
This championship has a long history and a high rating in the line of competitions of this direction. Traditionally, the strongest teams from Russia's leading technical universities take part in this competition, considering the level of its tasks to be comparable in complexity to the semifinal round of the World Championship.
At the opening of the championship, the participants were greeted by the First Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a graduate of USATU Denis Slepov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Sergey Alopin, Rector Sergey Novikov, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Robotics Alexei Kovtunenko.
“It is a great honor for us to gather you at our site,” Sergei Novikov addressed the students. - For the second year I have been watching with great interest how much you are doing, getting ready, working. For me, sports programming is like playing chess - it is an intellectual battle of young talents. I want you to feel comfortable and pleasant visiting us, and may the strongest win!”
“Traditionally, I try not to miss your competitions, I am pleased to see young people who are active and charged to win. If the previous generation of IT people were looking for a job, then you can already afford to choose where and what is more interesting and attractive to you in the IT field. Today, all eyes are on you, the governments of the country and the republic are taking unprecedented support measures for your formation, development and activities as specialists. I will not hide that sometimes even to the envy of other ministries. Good luck today, tomorrow and always, in life and competition! - Denis Slepov admonished the participants.
Sergei Alopin stressed in his speech that he was present at the championship for the first time, but not by chance. “Our ministry cannot stay away from trending trends in e-Sports, and I would call sports programming an intellectual offshoot. You are great for being engaged in this modern direction, and I wish good luck to all of you,” said the Deputy Minister of Sports.
Aleksey Kovtunenko reminded the audience that this year is an anniversary championship: a quarter of a century of the championship itself and 5 years since it has been held on the basis of the USATU. “I would also like to congratulate all of us on the fact that on March 14, sports programming was officially recognized as a sport,” said the FIR dean. - I am sure that this will allow to involve as many people as possible in our great movement. I wish you to have a great time, have a lot of fun and collect more balls!”
Then representatives of sponsoring organizations spoke to the students, who spoke about their companies, job prospects and invited the guys to talk individually in an informal setting.
