The development and production of unmanned aerial systems have become the most trending segments of the global aviation industry. Unmanned aerial vehicles are becoming an integral part of modern high-tech industries, and their operation is a point of growth and development for a specialist in the field of aviation systems.
The direction of creating unmanned aerial systems and components was opened by almost every developer of aviation equipment, including large helicopter and aircraft companies and manufacturers of additional equipment.
Currently, drones are used in a variety of areas - monitoring, cargo delivery, video filming. And for their successful use, it is necessary to know the features of control and operation, be able to carry out maintenance, troubleshoot the system, use technical means and equipment to control the flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
“The new laboratory will be used to develop the primary skills of multicopter and aircraft-type UAV operators; development and debugging of airframes, hulls, frames and on-board equipment of UAVs of various types; modeling and prototyping of UAV structural elements; modeling of UAV control systems and processes; processing the results of aerial photography,” said Lyubov Neugodnikova, Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
Dean of FAEEIT Yulia Urazbakhtina emphasized that the work of the laboratory will be integrated both with the educational process and with the research activities of students.
Having familiarize himself with the equipment of the laboratory, Rector Sergey Novikov called on his colleagues to expand interdisciplinary and interfaculty ties, actively promote and implement joint ideas, and also consider the possibility of participating in research and practical projects of the defense department.
