In September 2021, bachelor’s graduates of the Institute of Aviation Technologies and Materials, who entered the master’s programs, had a unique opportunity to become students of two universities at the same time - USATU and St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

The program of network interaction with St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, the oldest and most authoritative university in the country, involves studying within the walls of both universities throughout the entire period of the master's degree. As well as the issuance of two diplomas, subject to the development of 14 specialized disciplines, the development of five projects during the training, the writing and successful defense of a graduate work that fully meets all the requirements of both universities.

Seven students of the MA-174M group turned out to be ready for such a turn of events, having started training under the network educational program “Laser and additive technologies in aircraft engine building”.

Alexander Medvedev, Head of the Department of Welding, Foundry and Additive Technologies, comments:

“The first semester of study has ended. Our students successfully passed exams and tests at our university in the disciplines "Aviation materials and technologies", "Digital technologies in the life cycle of products", "Physical models of technological processes", "Industrial robotics", "Fundamentals of the theory of laser beams".

Despite the complexity of the curriculum, the students still have time for physical development (the modern campus provides a lot of opportunities, including a swimming pool and an ice rink) and acquaintance with the cultural heritage of St. Petersburg.

There are still many complex and interesting tasks ahead, including the development of the most modern laser and additive equipment in the laboratory and in production. We wish success to our students!”
