The results have been summed up and the winners of the first competition of the Presidential Grants Fund in 2022 have been announced.
Our student activists received support for the project of the Youth Tourism Festival "Watslet" in the amount of three million rubles. The Ikar Tourist Club and the student union committee will implement the project in the spring of 2022.
Recall that "Watslet" is a youth tourism festival that promotes a healthy lifestyle, popularizes sports tourism and introduces young people to this sport. The festival is held for students of Ufa universities aged 18 to 35 years.
The project will consist of two stages. The first one takes place in Ufa and includes teaching the target group the basics of tourism and preparing for competitions. The course involves theoretical and practical training on the basic knowledge of sports tourism.
At the second stage, the participants go to the Arkhangelsk region of Bashkiria, where a four-day festival takes place on the banks of the Basu River. Teams of 10 people overcome three different distances, consolidate their skills and apply them in practice, and perform creative performances in the evenings. Winning teams are determined based on the results of all competitive tasks.
Liya Gibadullina, Head of the Youth Policy Department of USATU, comments:
“What is the uniqueness of the Watslet festival? In our project, anyone from the target group can assemble their own team, which is not offered by other similar projects in Bashkiria - only prefabricated educational institutions participate there. Well, the biggest plus is that participation in our festival is free.”
Note that the top 10 regions by the number of winners included Moscow (11.6%), St. Petersburg (4.7%), the Republic of Bashkortostan (3.8%), Samara Region (3.3%), Volgograd Region (3.3%), Krasnodar Territory (2.8%), Udmurt Republic (2.6%), Sverdlovsk Region (2.5%), Novosibirsk Region (2.4%), and Republic of Tatarstan (2.3%).
