The VIII International Scientific Forum of the Donetsk People's Republic "Innovative Prospects for Donbas: Infrastructural and Socio-Economic Development" has started. The event, which has been held annually since 2015 based on the Donetsk National Technical University, is the largest congress of research organizations, manufacturing enterprises, educational institutions from the Donetsk region, the Russian Federation and foreign countries.

Rector Sergey Novikov, vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions, leading scientists of our university took part online in the opening of the forum and the plenary session.

The rector of the Donetsk National Technical University Alexander Anoprienko, the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, the rector of the St. Petersburg Mining University Vladimir Litvinenko, heads of Russian universities, representatives of authorities, ministries and departments greeted participants and guests of the International Forum.

The purpose of holding a large-scale forum is to discuss the priority tasks of restoring and ensuring sustainable development of Donbas, increasing the efficiency of innovative, infrastructural and socio-economic development of the region, etc.

A wide range of issues will be discussed at the plenary session: interaction between the DPR and Russia in the field of education, the role of polytechnic education in the revival of Donbas, the development of construction science in the republic, health problems in modern realities, new technologies, training and modernization of the coal industry, the formation of the metallurgical industry region, etc.

Recall that in April a videoconference was held between the USATU and the Donetsk National Technical University. Since that time, the countdown of friendship between our universities began.

- We are pleased to start cooperation with one of the leading technical universities in Russia in the field of aircraft and engine building, - then said the rector of DonNTU Alexander Anoprienko. – We have a lot in common, so we will find growth points for joint work.

Then Alexander Yakovlevich invited representatives of our university to take part in the International Scientific Forum dedicated to the innovative prospects of Donbas.
